We had 4 real live scientists in Room 4 today! They usually work at ESR but made a special trip out to show us their "Up the pipe solutions" programme
We were surprised that the scientists dont all wear lab coats and funny glasses. One had a protective suit on (forensic science), one had gumboots and a raincoat (field work), and one even just wore plain clothes (the boss and computer stuff!). These scientists all do very different jobs and all are very important jobs to each other.
We looked at what goes down the drain from our homes and how chemicals can get into our water ways. We also made environmentally friendly cleaning products as an alternative to chemicals.
We then learned how to make a cast of a footprint.

Love the hand scrub! We have nearly used it all up, Mika is going to make some more in the holidays.
